How the PetGen Test Works
For only $159, the PetGen Canine DNA Test, which only requires an oral swab sample, gives you access to so much information about your dog.
Through this test, dog owners and breeders are able to know more about their dog’s breed history and, in effect, get a fuller understanding of the animal’s traits and behaviour.
The test is also a useful tool in determining a dog’s predicted size and life expectancy. Plus, it provides a detailed screening of the some of the genetic diseases that the animal might be genetically predisposed to. These cover hereditary diseases, mutations, single-gene diseases, and rare genetic diseases. The results also include a carrier report.
Apart from the comprehensive results, clients will also be provided with a beautiful personalised breed certificate, which indicates your dog’s name, photo, and breed history.

Sample Collection and Test Results
The test requires a very simple and painless sample collection process. After the order has been processed, the client will receive a sample collection kit that contains all you need as well as easy-to-follow instructions.
Following the instructions provided, collect your pet’s mouth swab samples. Make sure to follow the instructions closely to avoid possible issues. We also encourage you to take a photo of your pet for your personalised breed certificate.
The kit also contains instructions for sending the sample back to us for testing. The results of the tests will be available within 3-4 weeks from receipt of samples at the laboratory.
