We all love our pets, and one of the best ways to care for them is by monitoring their health and wellbeing. Our home Cat Allergy Test kit allows you to do exactly that – easily and conveniently.

This test checks your cat for potential allergies by analysing a small blood sample, collected at home using a simple lancet device. The process is quick, minimally invasive, and designed to reduce stress for your pet. The results will help identify whether your cat has food-related or environmental sensitivities.

What the Allergy Results Will Tell You

Thousands of animals each year are taken to the vet to investigate persistent itchiness, digestive problems, or behavioural issues, which may be linked to allergies. These issues often go undetected and untreated for long periods.

With the Cat Allergy Test, you can discover possible causes of your cat’s symptoms and take steps to avoid the allergens, improving your pet’s comfort and quality of life.

After testing, you will receive a report showing your cat’s reactions to up to 125 of the most common allergens. These could be present in food and other substances that your animal is likely to encounter on a regular basis, or in the outside environment.

We offer three different test panels depending on the number of allergens tested:

64 Allergen IgEI Panel

How the Cat Allergy Test Works

Once you understand what your cat is sensitive to, you can make more informed choices – like changing their diet or avoiding certain environments.

Your kit includes all you need to collect a small blood sample using the included lancet.
Recommended collection sites: inner ear flap or paw pad (avoid calloused areas). It’s best to take the sample when your cat is calm and warm, as blood flow is increased.

  1. Use the lancet to obtain a drop of blood.
  2. Apply one drop to each of the 5 circles on the blood collection card.
  3. Let it air-dry for at least 2 hours.
  4. Place it in the protective bag and return using the pre-addressed envelope.
  5. We recommend using a tracked mail service.

Results will show the degree of your cat’s reaction to each allergen, categorised either 0 (no signs of allergy), 1 (low), 2 (moderate) or 3 (high). Click the button below to view a sample test report.

Food, Medication, and Sample Timing

To avoid skewed results:

  • Your cat should not eat immediately before the sample is taken. Ideally, collect the sample in the morning before feeding.
  • Avoid medications like antihistamines, steroids (e.g., Prednisolone), or anti-itch treatments for 1–2 weeks prior to sample collection.
  • Antibiotics (e.g., Clavaseptin) will not affect the results.

If unsure, please contact us before taking the sample.

At What Age Should I Test My Cat?

You can test a cat of any age, but since kittens’ immune systems develop rapidly, we recommend testing after 12 months of age for the most accurate, long-term results.
